Application & Removal Guide
APPLICATION:
-
simply slip the LimbCoat over the cast or dressing of the injured limb, and pull the LimbCoat up gently to where the fat/muscle integrity is at its most to ensure a watertight seal is achieved
-
for showering– put your LimbCoat on till the seal is tight above the cast or dressing
-
pull the black material or the corners (tags) of the LimbCoat down slightly to make sure the seal is flush with the skin above the cast or dressing
-
for gentle bathing or gentle swimming
-
pull the black material or the corners (tags) of the LimbCoat down slightly to make sure the seal is flush to the skin above the cast or dressing
-
gently lower your limb into the water with the LimbCoaton, keeping the seal (black material) above the water line at this point
-
the LimbCoat will inflate as you lower your limb into the water
-
release the trapped air out of the LimbCoat by pulling lightly on the corners (tags) or the seal which will create a vacuum as the trapped air is released
-
the LimbCoat will form a snug fit around your limb once most of the trapped air is released
-
submerge the LimbCoat under water till the black fabric to check that most of the trapped air has been released
-
check the seal before you fully immerse your limb with your LimbCoaton into the water
-
do not make any sudden movements when bathing or swimming, as this might cause the watertight seal of your LimbCoat to be compromised and you don’t want your cast or dressing to get wet
REMOVAL:
-
dry the skin area above the LimbCoat seal to avoid water running down onto the cast or dressing when removing the LimbCoat
-
pull on the corners (tags) of the seal gently to let air in, your LimbCoat will slightly inflate due to air entering the LimbCoat
-
take yourLimbCoat off by putting your hands on the inside of the seal gently and gently slide your LimbCoat off your limb OR by pulling gently on the corners of the yellow material at the bottom of the LimbCoat where there is NO black material
